The University of Patras, in particular with the participation of four laboratories, the Microbiology Laboratory (Department of Biology), the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology (Department of Environmental Engineering), the Environmental Systems Laboratory (Department of Environmental Engineering) and finally the Environmental Systems Laboratory (Department of Chemical Engineering), is a modern and thriving academic unit, with adequate equipment in the field of this project’s technology. The Laboratories are provided with experienced personnel of high training (professors, doctoral candidates and postgraduate students). The Laboratories have also developed relationships of continuous and constructive cooperation with many european centres, universities and other sectors.
The scientific subject of HCMR concerns the execution of original research, the development and transfer of technology and expertise and the training of new human resources in the field of aquaculture and related areas. Well-equipped laboratories operate for biochemical analyses, microbiology, immunology, histology, liquid chromatography of sequential mass spectrometry for proteomics analyses.
